Regina
Crosby (DIRECTOR/WRITER)
Regina
Crosby grew up on a pristine lake in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and
began writing at an early age. In high school, she took a summer
job writing advertising copy, and by college, began writing her
first screenplay and studying acting. After moving to California,
Regina continued to pursue acting and writing for television,
with little satisfaction. While cast in a short-lived sitcom,
Regina offered up her own script for an episode to the director.
Initially her offer was dismissed, but after the director read
the script, the episode was produced, and Regina got to see her
work performed on camera for the first time. In an effort to
pursue that remarkable reward, Regina put down the pen for television,
and began writing for film. Her first screenplay, TEENAGE DIRTBAG,
unintentionally became her directorial debut. "It was terrifying,
to say the least, to be a first-time director, let alone a chick
in a pink fuzzy sweater on a set full surly seasoned vets. At
one point, I am pretty sure they wanted to drown me." However,
after the first day of filming, Regina knew she had found her
place as an artist: "It was the ah-ha moment we all hope
for... nothing feels more matched to my molecular structure than
filmmaking."
