I have seen this movie twice. The first time I saw it I couldn’t get right... It was too wordless, so for that I thought and I think that the actor’s work was magnificent, especially the main characters. The second time I paid more attention to the poems and you find yourself understanding and I mean deeply understanding the meaning of simple words. You feel his pain and his strength when he says that hate would be a delicacy in his world of pain and hell… but you also know that his madness is talking… you also get that as a teenage he’s pacing the halls of change and there’s a lot of pain just growing up but he has to deal with so much more… I could say more but I think I might make a book about it!
I didn’t cry but I think that what I felt was so much more… it was not pity or angry, it was a feeling full of reality… he knew she couldn’t love him because he had so much sorrow inside, tho I think she loved him she just couldn’t say it.
I want to say that it was an amazing job, and I like it very much, and I know there are a lot of people out there that need to see this movie.
Congratulations… to you and the crew.

I absolutely loved this movie.. It really stays with you. I felt for Thayer so much and was yelling, "say it!!" at the screen during the bathroom scene with Amber. I wish they could have had more of a resolution between them sometimes but I guess that would stop it from being as bittersweet as it is.
The whole thing really was beautifully done.. and what fine acting too.
I'm going to go watch it again xx

The absolute BEST movie I have ever seen. The way the actors portrayed the pain and emotions was amazing. It's been 3 hours since I saw it and I still can't stop crying. I think a sequel would be great... but think about it. The ending was a bittersweet final. It was meant to show how Amber will never know but always wonder what happened to Thayer. Her love. If they make a sequel... then ending of TDB will be ruined. I would love for Thayer and Amber to see each other again. However, it can't happen :( Oh... AMBER SHOULD HAVE SAID THAT SHE LOVED HIM!!! STUPID B**TCH!!!

XOXO

haha I know what you mean Liz, I wish she had been brave enough too.
I feel for Thayer so much.. at times, I just wanted to reach into the screen and give him a hug.
Incidently, I've just watched it about three more times since my last post, which is very unusual for me.. This film has really got under my skin. I don't think I'll be able to stop thinking about it for a while yet. Again, bravo to all involved.

I've never seen anything like it. Usually quiet girl ever look at the famous guy, but here... the contrary.
Unreal caught.
Although I don't know very well english (because I'm Russian) movie understood.
He touched me very deeply.

I really liked this movie. However, I wish they had more facts. There were a lot of spots that were either recorded poorly and difficult to understand, or they just simply didn't have enough factual background. I would have liked to know what really happened to Thayer and if the girl (I forgot her name) thought about him or was more concerned about him than they let on. If I was her I would have been looking more into his home life and worrying about him 24-7, but of course, that's just me.

There were really really good scenes, very affective I think in how they were just genuine and almost simple. But then there were other scenes or maybe a lack of scenes and information, that made the movie lose some potential sense-making... if that made any sense...

If there was to be a remake, I would like to see more interaction between the two main characters and more of the problems they would run into in the school setting with their different social statuses. I would like to see how (the girl's) daily life was affected. (I think because when I started high school there was a boy who caught my attention and he was the only thing I could think about. So I have a hard time believing that her life outside of writing class was perfectly normal and Thayer-thought free.)

This movie was so amazing. It is actually now in my top ten. I loved how realistic the movie was. I wish that Thayer would have got the girl in the end but not all stories have their happy ending. Also, the poetry exchanged was very beautifully written. I love poetry and that was some of the best work I've seen in a movie. Also, I liked how original the plot was. You don't find many movies exactly like this one. I think this movie deserved to be on the top 25 lists of best movies of 2009.
